New Series of Works by the Artist
Since the autumn of 2025, I have been developing a new series of works inspired by my travels across Europe. Presented here is a gallery of my latest pieces; these are also available for purchase. Prices for these works range from 1,700 to 1,900 euros. Each piece comes framed in an elegant floating frame (shadow-gap frame), which both highlights and protects the artwork.
On May 20, 2026, Vanni Rinaldi and Air Daryal of Veridieci Art Manager (Italy) wrote an assessment of the portfolio of painter Sabrina Catowiez. Here is an excerpt from the text:
From a technical perspective, Sabrina Catowiez demonstrates a broad and cultivated visual vocabulary. The combination of acrylics, charcoal, collage elements, and graphic structures creates layered surfaces that feel both painterly and constructed. One immediately senses the influence of early modernist movements, particularly Der Blaue Reiter, Die Brücke, and aspects of Futurism and expressionist narrative painting. The strongest technical aspect is the ability to combine drawing and color dynamically. The charcoal interventions give rhythm and emotional tension to the compositions, while the translucent pigments create atmospheric depth. The artist clearly understands composition and movement, especially in works such as Der Weltenspieler, Die Zeit verrinnt, and Gedankenfluss. The portfolio also benefits from a strong chromatic sensibility. The colors are expressive without becoming uncontrolled, and the balance between figurative reference and abstraction is often convincing.
The greatest strength of the portfolio is its emotional and cultural richness. The works feel inhabited by literature, music, movement, memory, and travel. They are not decorative paintings created to follow trends; they come from lived experience and intellectual curiosity. Among the different directions presented, the “Narrative Werke” series appears the strongest and most promising artistically. Works such as Der Weltenspieler, Die Zeit verrinnt, Gedankenfluss, and Solitude Standing possess a more singular atmosphere. They balance expressionism, symbolism, and modernist references in a way that feels personal rather than nostalgic.
Another major strength is authenticity. The portfolio does not feel artificially constructed for the market. There is a genuine artistic curiosity and emotional sincerity behind the work, which gives it credibility.

In her live performances, the Catowiez Sound Project offers a captivating one-woman-show experience. Catowiez crafts her sound using an electric saz, a looper, a melodica, and various percussion instruments, all while singing in the style of a singer-songwriter. Her music defies simple genre categorization, blending elements of alternative rock, indie, British folk, post-wave, and post-punk into a distinctive—and at times experimental—musical style. For those in Bamberg or elsewhere who would like to experience her creative music live, upcoming concert dates are regularly posted on this website and on Facebook.
